Australia’s New South Wales (NSW) and Queensland (QLD) regions are
renowned for their stunning coastal landscapes, and what better way to
embrace the beach culture than through the exciVng sport of beach volleyball?
Beach Volleyball is more than just a game – it’s a lifestyle. With numerous
beaches to choose from including Maroubra, Coolangatta, Manly and Coogee
Beach, players and spectators alike can bask in the beauty of the Pacific Ocean
while engaging in exhilarating matches.

Avion International Australia has nurtured a deep affection for this sport and
has steadfastly extended its support to numerous Beach Volleyball clubs across
Australia for more than a decade. Marco Viglietta, Managing Director of Avion
International Australia, highlights that the Beach Volleyball landscape in Australia
is renowned for its inclusiveness, bringing together individuals of diverse backgrounds
and skill levels. He notes, “This community cultivates lasting connections beyond the
sand courts. At Avion, we are resolute in our belief that making a positive
difference in the local communities we engage with is crucial, as we strive to
contribute to societal enhancement”.

One of these training facilitators is beachvolleyball.com.au, which has grown to
be an integral part of the volleyball community in Sydney and Australia with
the help of many passionate people over the years. Notably, one of these
individuals is Kerri Pottharst, a three-time Olympian, who secured a Gold
medal during the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.

Kerri joined forces with Victor Anfiloff, who coached internationally and was
head of Volleyball Australia’s beach volleyball program. They founded Sydney
Beach Volleyball School academy to create a beach volley hub and to make it
more accessible for people of all levels to engage with the sport.

Gregor Salvin, Director beachvolleyball.com says: “Companies like Avion
International play a vital role for our sport clubs as they contribute to the
sustainable growth and development of the club. This support not only
benefits the clubs but also promotes healthy lifestyles and encourages
participation in physical activities”.

Beach Volleyball events are a celebration of athleticism, teamwork, and
community. Behind the scenes, companies like Avion Australia play an
essential role in making these events possible.

Another club is nestled at the vibrant Coogee Beach and boasting a
membership of over 300, Coogee Beach Volleyball Association (CBVA) is
affiliated to the Volleyball NSW and Volleyball Australia. CBVA was founded by
a small group of friends in 2008 and has since become a well-run association
set primarily around social games between its members with a beach volleyball
program for kids, adult training classes and squads for high performance
players.

“For our members, many of whom have moved to Australia from overseas,
CBVA is like a second family”, affirms Blake Bentley, CBVA’s Treasurer. He
continues, “We take immense pride in the diverse blend of cultures in the
community, and the manner in which beach volleyball serves as a source of
enjoyable social connections for all. Marco and Avion Australia have been a
constant thread in the ongoing support of CBVA, which have enabled us to
enhance the experience offered to our members.”
As the weather is starting to warm up and the days are getting a little longer
another high-energy summer of action is on the cards from November with the
dates and venues just been announced for the 2023/24 Australian Beach
Volleyball Tour.

The Tour’s opening round will take place in November this year at Torquay in
Victoria, while the final event at will be at Coolangatta in March 2024 with an
Australian Beach Volleyball Championships double. Beach Volleyball continues
to grow in popularity, the support provided by Avion International Australia and
other partners is poised to become an even more integral part of the game’s success story.
